Making Electricity from Solar Energy
Cenin Renewables’ ground mounted solar array was installed in 2011. It was the largest solar array in Wales at the time, for about 2 weeks! It has a maximum generating capacity of 735kW and contains 2940 Yingli Mono 250 Series monocrystalline photo-voltaic panels. The array is part of Parc Stormy’s integrated renewable energy cluster, generating energy to use on site and export to the grid.
Other smaller solar projects onsite include the roof of the SOLCER House (4.3kW), a section of the cement factory roof (4kW), and a west-facing test array on the side of the substation (4kW).
